Petrovačka noć is an annual summer festival in Petrovac that marks the end of the tourist season. Organized by the Budva municipality and local fishermen’s association, it features sports competitions (e.g. tug-of-war), children’s entertainment, and a large communal feast of freshly caught fish, local wine from Plantaže, and beer. The evening peaks with live music concerts and a fireworks finale over the bay 1 2. This community celebration highlights traditional seafaring life – fishermen distribution of fish – and provides insight into local identity and their relationship with the sea.
Rooted in Petrovac’s fishing heritage, the festival originated as a fishermen’s feast (Širuni refers to local fisherman groups). It emphasizes Trađitional Mediterranean fishing culture (fish and wine) combined with summer sporting games that involve locals. The festival illustrates how Petrovac’s community celebrates local produce (seafood) and communal activities as a point of pride.
