Ilūkste City FestivalIlūkstes pilsētas svētki

A two-day city anniversary festival in Ilūkste celebrating the town’s 462nd founding. Events include an ecumenical church service, traditional belly­-awakening by the brass band “Sēlija”, a large crafts and produce market, folk music and dance performances, children’s activities like pony rides, and evening concerts and dances (e.g. the “Vienoti dziesmā” concert and late-night dance with a live band). Ilūkste sits on the Daugava river where Latgale meets Selonia. The festival blends Latvian traditions (e.g. Midsummer flame and folk dances) with Christian elements (the title derives from 'Ville Unite').
