Pag Sheep and Cheese ExhibitionIzložba paške ovce i Paškog sira

An annual agricultural exhibition in Novalja highlighting the traditional Pag sheep and Pag cheese. Organized by local shepherd and cheese-maker associations under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, it features displays of prize livestock (autochthonous Pag sheep), cheese tastings, and related products 1. The event emphasizes the unique pastoral heritage of Pag island – for example, showcasing Pag salt and lamb dishes along with cheese– as well as breeding programs for the indigenous Lika-Senj or cattle. Each year prizes are awarded to the best breeders and champion animals in various categories 1 2.

Pag shepherding is a key part of local identity, with Pag cheese (Paški sir) and local sheep breeds protected by EU designations.
