Kastafsko kulturno leto is an annual multi-week cultural festival in Kastav, near Rijeka, held each summer. In its 34th edition, it features theater, music, and comedy programs rooted in local tradition 1. Kastav locals attend dozens of events during July and August, including amateur drama performances (often in the local Croatian dialect čakavski), concerts, and literary evenings. This festival series is a fixture of Kastav’s cultural life and attracts residents from the wider Kvarner region.
As one of the oldest continuous cultural festivals on the Croatian coast, it showcases Kastav’s identity as a historic town and proud custodian of Čakavian dialect and folklore.
