Autumn in LikaJesen u Lici

Jesen u Lici is a long-running autumn fair in Gospić showcasing Lika’s traditional agriculture and culture 1. Held on the first weekend of October, it is the largest expo of the region: over 300 small producers exhibit autochthonous products, from Lika-Senj honey and cured meats to ceramics and filigree 1. The event also includes live folk music, dancing, and exhibitions of local livestock breeds (Lika pramenka sheep, Buša cattle, Croatian Coldblood and Posavina horses) under expert kennels 2.

This festival was established to celebrate the harvest and local crafts of Lika. It reflects the county’s rural heritage – for example, one core exhibit is the breed of Lika pramenka sheep, tied to centuries of pastoralism in the Velebit and Plješivica areas 1. The fair reinforces county identity by inviting community groups, artisans, and schools to participate in cultural presentations alongside the marketplace.
