A week-long town festival in early August celebrating the people and traditions of Ardino. Each year build-up to a main day of concerts, folk music, sports and crafts. Highlights include an artisan fair of local Rhodope food products, folk dance and song performances, and a big outdoor concert by a popular folk artist. Thousands of Ardino-born families return for reunion celebrations called 'Dni na Ardino', reinforcing communal bonds. While partly festive and modern, it retains local customs like presenting herbs and foods from the Rhodope and performances of multi-ethnic roots.
Ardino is a mountain town of mixed Bulgarian and Turkish heritage in Southern Bulgaria. 'Days of Ardino' evolved from a local holiday tradition into a multi-day cultural event, reflecting pride in local crafts and foods (like honey, cheese, herbs) and Rhodope folk music. The festival nurtures community identity by showcasing dances and songs from across Bulgaria and neighboring Turkey (twin towns). Folk groups from the region perform on the town square, symbolizing the shared Rhodope heritage and hospitality of the mountain communities.
