"Dani MZ Šatorovići" is the annual village festival of the Šatorovići local community in Brčko District. It usually takes place in late May or early June, with events held at the local community hall and school. Activities include folk dance performances by local KUD ensembles, children’s games and sports, exhibitions of local crafts or history, and communal evening programs. The 2024 edition featured a rich cultural-entertainment program attended by the mayor 1. It serves to strengthen community bonds and celebrate the heritage of this small Serb/Croat village. The festival is conceived by the village council (MZ) and attended almost entirely by locals. Out-of-town visitors can respectfully attend dances and informal gatherings, but the event’s focus is on village identity and traditions.
Šatorovići is a small rural settlement in Brčko with a distinct local culture. Community days like this are common in Bosnia, often around a village patron day or local historical date. They celebrate folk traditions (music, dances, children’s folklore) and intergenerational ties. It reflects how each local community (Mjesna Zajednica) in Brčko maintains its own customs and social cohesion. The festival illuminates village life that outsiders rarely see.
