A six-week spring cultural festival (May–June) featuring international theatre, opera, music and dance. Established in 1951, the Wiener Festwochen welcome avant-garde and classical performances from around the world at venues across the city 1 2. It traditionally opens with a free outdoor celebration at Rathausplatz and draws major local and visiting audiences.
